History
Well Jeannie ina Bottle started when I was just a innocent little girl, who dreamed to have her own website.
Ok ok, Jeannie ina Bottle REALLY started around the beginning of 2005, when
a friend of my mums was generous enough to give me free hosting. I was totally
estatic, and spent hours (ok, maybe not) deciding my domain name. I ended
up with Jeannie ina Bottle. (Relating back to a phrase I often use when people
mis-pronounce my name. It's pronounced 'Jean-knee' btw. And the 'in a' linked into 1 word
was just because it looked better ^o^)
First, i had a brilliant idea of having
a sort of splash page, where I could introduce my self and have the enter
sings for my 2 other sites which I had planned to have since as long as I
can remember. It didn't work that well, and I pretty much started over again.
Next, I used that good old frames, making a banner from a Sailor Mercury wallpaper,
and some fancy flashing bullets from layoutland. It was then that I did most
of my work, like jokes, top 10s, book reveiws and all the other stuff now
under 'For you'. It wasn't long before I decided that I wanted a more fancier
outlook, and changed my layout to Version 1: Mercury. I admit, I was very
proud of it. Just starting in the world of web designing, I thought I was
doing pretty well.
It stayed like this for many months, with me advertising
and attracting visitors from Neopets, relatives, and friends. (I would just
like to say, that I have been using a 'unique' counter all this time as to
count hits from only new visitors.) Unknowingly, I had turned my site into
a sort of 'half-blog' (or online diary) and reported with dutifulness. (is
that a word?) Then, I began working on my SM site, SM Magic. I only got so
far as the profiles and a couple of episodes before I did my next major change.
I re-ded SM Magic and gave it a new layout (which included glowing spheres
that were nothing but white dots. You can see it at SM Magic past layouts)
Then I left that for the rennovation of CCSakura, which I renamed Cherryblossom
Dreams. (I only just found out there are 2 other CCS sites with that name.
Luckily I'm the only active one.) I had a brilliant layout idea in mind, and
surprisingly it worked, with some minor flaws. Here I really entered the world
of fansites, learning more about HTML, graphic making, and website-making
in general. After CbD was quite successful, I gave SM Magic a more 'profesional'
layout, and then turned my eye on turing Jeannie ina Bottle into a blog.
So here it is, after lots of changing and rearranging, its finally here. my blog, Jeannie ina Bottle.^-^
