Past Layouts
Version 10: Twilight
TWILIGHT!! This layout was made in my Twilight obsessive phase. I used an image from Stock xchange as the background, and then an image of Tom Sturridge as Edward (*swoons*) and the Bella from the cover of the German edition. It was quite nice...alot of grunge on a black background (something you hardly ever see from me- but Twilight didn't seem to fit any other colour) and some sparkly stuff that's always nice.
Version 9: Frog Prince
LUFF!!! <3 This is a super luffly layout based on the Taiwanese idol drama Frog Prince (Wang zi bian qing wa- Prince to Frog) It features the 2 main characters, and they're super kawaii together! I really love the light colour scheme, plus the adorable little frog emblem everywhere makes it one of my fave layouts by far. I also tried image rollover for the navigation, so the links changed colour and the frog beside it rocked from one site to the other.
Version 8: Specials
Based on another one of my obsessions, this layout is based on Scott Westerfeld's book 'Specials' (as you probably figured out) part of the 'Uglies Trilogy'. I decided to try a 'professional' look, and used the least textures/overlays/fancy stuff ever! XD; I also made all the brushes myself (finally) and used image maps for the navigation.
Version 7: Heaven on Earth
Teehee, this layout would look pretty weird to westerners. It's based on one of my fave chinese programs, set in ancient China, and about a fake princess who falls in love with a real prince. The overlaying text is actually a song that I created, called 'Castaway'. This was also when I started using tables, and CCS styles on bold, italics etc.
Version 6: Thin Line Between Love and Hate
DOUBLE SQUEEEE! This is one of my favourite layouts ever! It features Draco and Hermione from Harry Potter (I know most people think I'm crazy when I say they make a cute couple- but hey, I AM crazy XD;;) and lots of images which I tried blending to make it look like they were 'Dramione' moments. On the main images, I tried this really neat effect in which I colourised them, then uncolourised the lips, eyes and Hermione's dress. My friend said they were bronze and shiny...=_=;;
Version 5: Eternal Snow
*SQUEEEE!* I adore this layout ALOT. Well, actually I adore the song, but this layout was wunnerful too ;) It was- well very 'blue', and in one of my old styles that managed to stay quite awhile (go to Cherryblossom Dream's past layouts to see what I mean ^-^;), with the lyrics, stripy background and round boxes...I also discovered a neat effect when putting a drop shadow on sparkles- this was what made the 'snowing' effect.
Version 4: Love's Surrender
When I saw the image of Sakura & Syaoran, I knew I had to make a layout using it. I liked the whole colour effect of green and khaki, and the image dissolving into 'sparkles' (though that was mainly because the image ended too early XD;) This was also when I started doing stripy backgrounds, as you'll see in the next version.
Version 3: Wish Upon an Evening Star
A really did like this layout at first, especially the fact that when you started hard enough at the dark blue reflection of the girl in the background, the white contrasting it gave everything a kinda 3D look. It was good while it lasted I suppose, but it was way too big for my liking. Even on my 1024x786 screen there was a teed bit of a bottom scroll bar. It was till pretty good, and it was my first dark layout!
Version 2: Sugar and Spice
I really liked this layout, especially
the colour theme. It's so bright and funky, and the picture of the fairy suited
it perfectly. I originally wanted it to have a food theme, but soon gave up
on that idea when I couldn't find any good PNGs. (I couldn't be bothered making
my own...a bit lazy T_T) It didn't take me long, as there weren't any difficult
photoshop tricks in it. Overall i really thought it was a great come-back
layout, after such long, unannounced hiatus.
Version 1: Mercury
This was my first attempt at a proper layout. I had wanted to use an iframe, but couldn't figure it out,
so stuck with the good old frames. It was quite a good idea and worked fairly
well, though my friend who owns a Mac said that the heading didn't quite show
properly. Another thing was, if you were to press F11, the side image of Sailor
Mercury would stay in the same position so you got a big white gap where there
shouldn't be. I was just starting to use photoshop then, so this layout was
mainly the result of my experimentations. I think it looks ok. (just ok...)
